WHAT DO WE WORK FOR AT AUF LAND GUT HÖHNE?
Our mission is to serve people respectfully as part of the big picture and to provide the free space that Land Gut Höhne offers to all partners with hospitality, so that everyone can enjoy moments of indulgence that benefit them.
The first mention of a farm named “Groß Höhnen” comes in old maps of the town of Medamana, today the Neanderthal town of Mettmann, in 1750.
The former estate was always busy and was taken over by the Reucher family in 1970. Over the decades, an in-house construction team built numerous extensions out of old stone from demolished houses in the area. They still work on reconstruction and repairs to this day. The in-house carpentry workshop and many other disciplines are reflected in the room fittings, design and construction. Inspired by the creative drive of the owners, now in the third generation, Land Gut Höhne gradually developed into what it is today.
The core of the former farm, for example, can be seen in the entrance to the Gutshof restaurant. As well as the half-timbered walls, the construction work also revealed tiles. These have been protected by glass, so that today’s guests can admire and even walk on them.
Land Gut Höhne is full of life and never stops moving together with its people. Strengthened by the new generation that is guiding the family business into the future, everything we do every day reflects our responsibility, expertise and enormous creativity. A will to develop the business for the future and to retain the unique place that is Land Gut Höhne is embedded deep in the hearts of everyone here.
For all the change that Land Gut Höhne is naturally subjected to, the managing directors’ greatest desire is for the values of warmth, sustainability, respect, professionalism, creativity, freedom and tolerance to accompany this meeting place far into the future.
Anyone who wants to join us on this journey for however long, be it as a guest, staff member or partner company, is always more than welcome at Land Gut Höhne.
