SUSTAINABILITY, AS WE SEE IT, IS BASED ON VALUE PERCEPTION

WHAT WE THINK AND HOW WE ACT TODAY HAS AN IMPACT.

We are aware that sustainability is a process that will likely never end. But every step along the road is, we feel, a step in the right direction. We are grateful to everyone who accompanies us for part of the way.

SUSTAINABLE HOTEL partner

AND RESTAURANT

It is the mission and the vision of this family-run establishment to seek a holistic approach to our co-existence with natural surroundings and resources. For us, this is a matter of profound conviction and our responsibility for present and future generations. Lining up our day-to-day dealings with consequences for people and the environment is, we believe, sustainability in the best sense.
In the natural materials we use to construct and fit the rooms, in the kitchens and restaurants at Land Gut Höhne, in the conference and wellness areas, in the separation of waste and the use of green power: the all-embracing eco-consciousness is present in all aspects of the hotel establishment at Land Gut Höhne, and our aim is to put it into day-to-day practice as much as we possibly can. When restrictions are imposed by the seasons or the weather, we search out responsible alternatives.

TYPICALLY NEANDERLAND

TYPICALLY REGIONAL

As far as food is concerned, we set great store by quality in relation to origin and production methods. Our commitment to support regional foods was confirmed in official form through the award of the ‘typically Neanderland’ seal.
Here are some of our business partners:

  • Organic meat on a limited scale from Neandertal Galloways comes from the farming business of the Kindel family in Erkrath/Mettmann
  • Beef, including the cuts shoulder, rib-eye, shoulder sections, blade and diced meat, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, tri tip and silverside, comes exclusively from the May organic butcher’s in Villingen-Schwenningen.
  • Poultry meat such as organic poultry legs comes from Niggemann in Bochum

WHERE THE DRINKS COME FROM

The drinks, in ever increasing numbers, also meet our high standards:

  • The coffee beans for all machines and the selection of tea specialities (Pure Tea, Althaus
  • Bremen) are the products of organic farming.
  • The water comes from Haaner Felsenquelle, a family business in Neanderland (the Mettmann district).
  • Neanderthal orange juice and apple juice from the Rapp family’s Naturland Gut Halfeshof and the Demeter certified health fruit juice from the Voelkel company.
  • Sparkling wine and organic sparkling wine from Schloss Affachtal in Obersulm,
  • Bottled organic and Naturland beer from Pinkus in Münster,
  • Organic wines from Bioland Weingut Stefan Kuntz in Landau in der Pfalz,
  • Organic Demeter wines from Weingut Zwölberich,
  • Wines are the products of organic farming, Domaine Richeaume winery, Provence.
