Sports and games with fun and a purpose

Fitness year-round, from early to late

Individual, timeless and effective. The air-conditioned fitness studio in the Neandertal Therme is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. – regardless of scheduling, sparring partners and weather. For a dash of morning freshness, to wind down in the evening or for an occasional break with a quick boost. Thirty-two machines for strength and endurance training await our guests, with something for everyone’s tastes and needs.

Group courses

Yoga and pilates offer a somewhat different kind of workout. It doesn’t necessarily require a ‘power’ version to work up a sweat. How strenuous the exercises are is up to you. Discuss individual requests with one of the trainers beforehand. Phone ahead a week in advance to enquire which small group courses are planned.

Tennis on clay courts from April through October

During the season, there are two clay tennis courts available where players can hone their strength, speed, endurance and coordination with the felt ball. Please wear shoes with soft soles only; contact with tennis coaches can be arranged on request. Use of the clay tennis courts is subject to advance reservation and registration.

20 euros per court and hour

Year-round tennis or pickleball*

The multi-sport field is suitable for outdoor recreation throughout the year. Courts for tennis and its smaller version, pickleball, are marked out on this quick synthetic surface. Racquets and balls are available at the reception desk.

15 euros per court and hour

*A hybrid of tennis, badminton and table tennis, pickleball is played in singles or doubles matches; the rules are similar to those of tennis, but this game is played on a smaller court. Athletic players with a feel for the ball are quick to learn this trendy sport where the joy of team spirit awaits.

Beach volleyball and table tennis

Beach volleyball on the sand court requires a feel for the ball, quick reflexes, dedication, joy and endurance. Team matches are played with sides of two to five members. A volleyball can be borrowed free of charge at the reception desk. If teams will be competing, the charge is 20 euros per hour. For hobby players simply seeking exercise fun, the ball is available free of charge. Table tennis – indoors and outdoors alike, weather and mood permitting – is free of charge for Land Gut Höhne guests; racquets and balls are available at the reception desk.
